Do we know what we're here for?

I don't know how this thought came to my mind. May be to kill time waiting in the laundromat for my clothes to dry, I thought of writing this blog.

Have you wondered anytime what is the reason for your life. As they say, "everything happens for a reason".
Let us take few examples of some great people who knew it, I mean they were at least close. The great scientists like Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Thomas Edison and many more. They've done something for which they are forever remembered. It seemed that they knew why they were born!

So, what are we good at? What is that thing for which we've been sent on this small planet to live for a limited time with unlimited resources. This thought just fills my mind totally sometimes. Then I feel like going to some Buddhist monk and ask him "show me the way of life"

We've dreams from childhood to become someone or achieve something great one day. Most of them do dream and some fortunate get there or close to it. Speaking of dreams I always dreamt of being an astronaut or sometimes a sportsperson or a computer geek who is so intelligent that he just goes into any forensic office and just hacks into some conman's system. Thanks to some sci-fi movies.

I think we should not only be thinking or dreaming about it but also taking steps to achieve that. I know the road to your dreams will not be a smooth freeway but it will have lot of obstacles and twists/turns. But the important thing is are we taking that road which is not travelled before. Or just follow somebody's footsteps and go with the flow.

Something I can guarantee that if we cannot find the reason to live there is one thing we can always do. That is help others achieve their dreams or be kind to the people around. Nobody knows what is at the other side of the life. But whatever we have it here, we have to make it large. If not the whole world but there should be at least a few people who remember you or you can be the reason to put a smile on a face.

Alright, it seems like the dryer has stopped and hopefully my clothes are dried.
See you until next time!!

Night without drinking water..and in Infy Mysore!!

I was at GEC-2 (training center) and after an hour and half in the library reading some informative books/magazines. I was heading to my room at ECC guesthouse and wow! The atmosphere was awesomeee. It had rained lately and it was about 12.05 am midnight. It was like I m the only one alive on this planet. World has come to an end. No one in sight. But soon I saw a guy walking ahead of me and looking back at me like a devil is chasing him. LoL.:)
As I reached my room, I was thirsty as I walked a mile. I took my bottle in the room and went out to fill it at the cooler. And silly me, I threw away the 100 ml of water already in the bottle to get fresh water. Switched on the cooler and ????? no water!! WTH. Really world has come to an end! I couldn't stop asking the security guard sitting there who was listening to some funny messages on Walky-talky. "building 1,2 alert over...building 66,67,68 alert Over...building 86 Over..blah blah!"
He looked at me and told me to check at the 1st and 2nd floor of the building and report if I am still waterless. I did it and came back strongly without no water. I kinda felt excited thinking that I had found a bug in this Infosys Employee Care Centre Services otherwise called as ECC. damn my profession. I m such a bug-finder,tester whatever!
The guard told me may b there's a problem and said "check in other building which is just behind this if u need it urgently."
Now I was a man on a mission. I went into that block which looked like a no man's land. Switched on the lights without cursing the darkness and found the cooler. But it happened which I was wary off. Negative! No signs of drinkable water. Now I got a bad feeling :(
I went back to the guard and he had already got info from sources that there has been a temporary unexpected water outage in Infosys Mysore. Bummer!
Surprisingly then he asked me "what is your hometown btw?" I was like "regionalist bastard!" may be I was wrong. I said "Mumbai" proudly and he offered me water if I need it urgently or in case of emergency. I said "that's ok" I can manage for now. He believed that water should be back in some time.
Now I am writing this blog and still I couldn't quench my thirst. May be I will go and check once.

Bloody hell! This is insane!! No water and I m gonna hit the sack without water now.
Wow..there is drinking water outage in Infosys Mysore and it was first detected by Andy Rulz..da System cracker..Lolzzz.

Moral of the story : 100 ml in the bottle is worth 100 litres in the tank.

Manual Transmission(Manual) vs Automatic Transmission(Auto)

Guys, answer me how much you enjoy driving manual cars as everytime you slow down or stop you have to switch to 1st gear. Damn! you hate it obvioulsy if you have the better option of switching to auto.
I reckon auto is so awesome with very good pick up speed. Recently when I started driving auto car, I was amazed with the transmission. It was so good and I had to worry about the steering and forget clutch!
But going over the internet and doing some RnD I found that manual has better mileage, average. But if you see the brighter side, look at the ease at driving auto cars.
I loved it anyway. I drived Ford Falcon G6 at top speed of 140 kmph which was momentary though. Average speed being 90-100 kmph. the experience was awesome.
After not having driven much with manual cars, my transition from manual to auto was gr8.
But in India most of vehicles are with manual transmission due to the cost of living. People go for cheaper cars.
Even I own a manual car in India. ;-) So that proves it!
But I won't be surprised if we would be switching to auto cars totally.
Sorry to manual lovers who drive all day to office/work with one hand constantly on gearbox :)

PS : Default Speed limit is 100 kmph for Driving on roads of Victoria. So don't tell anyone about this!!

My take on Accents and Slangs!!

Learning different accents and slangs is so cool. slangs, infact! As learning an accent doesn't make sense sometimes. It comes out automatically and I love it when it does!
Accents :
I have been in Australia and its kinda cool over here. One funny thing about aussie accent is that "Australia" is seldom pronounced as it spells :-) Its pronounced AUSTRAYA in an aussie accent! but sounds great, believe me! And if you wanna say "G'day mate" which is a very common aussie greeting. pronounce it as "good eye mite" ;-)
I found aussie accent cooler than UK's baak(back) and Maanchester(Manchester)!! I have been closely monitoring UK and aussie accent and found very easy to differentiate.
Slangs:
Slangs have always fascinated me wherever I go.They make you so into their culture and make you feel more familiar wth the local community. After speaking the "Mumbaiya" slang from Mumbai(India) for years from my childhood which was great fun,I am really finding aussie slang interesting too.Everything becomes short in aussie.
As Australian becomes aussie, breakfast becomes brekkie, present - prezzy, document - doco and so on.
Thats it from me!not a masterpiece but am getting there.
So if you see your mate going to a bottle shop to buy a slab(a carton of 24 bottles/cans of beer), that would be very much Australian ;-)

Spiderman in you!

Was heading towards office today morning and got late. I don't know where this thought came to my mind but I wished I could jump from one tower to another like Spiderman and go to work.
I would be at work in no time and wud never get late. I was constantly looking at my hand and thinking of if I could use Web to get hold of the huge building in front of me on Collins street. Silly me.! It was never gonna happen. But my thoughts were flying high. And I reached my office eventually on Bourke street :)
As I reached my office all thoughts were cleared off my mind like we format a USB flash drive to get rid of the data in it(geeky example I know). But that was my state of mind and started thinking about work. :(
Sometimes we know that we are being silly and unrealistic, still we imagine things and try to get ourselves in similar situations like the one above. Luckily I din't run in the middle of the road and try to hold the tower with my web(silly again), I would have been run over by a car or tram. But I didn't mind giving a thought about it.
Have you been in such situation anytime?
